The annual golf tournament of the Chamber was held again at Branchburg Country Club in Somerset, NJ.  The event took place October 23, 2007.  Over 70 golfers participated in the event on the beautiful autumn day.  At the end of the day the golfers were joined by other GACC members for a successful networking dinner at the Branchburg Country Club clubhouse where they were able to meet and discuss professional opportunities.

Greek Chamber of Commerce President Zenon Christodoulou gave welcome remarks and thanked the participants for getting involved with the Chamber and the golf outing.  He also presented the winners of the tournament with prizes. Several vendors also gave door prizes to all the participants.

At the June 7 Annual Meeting of the Chamber, the members elected the officers and Board for the 2007-08 term.  In addition to the Chamber-wide officers, the Regional Presidents for each one of the newly created regions (Northern New Jersey, Central New Jersey and Greater Philadelphia) were elected.

The officers for the new term are the following:  Tassos Efstratiades (a partner at the law firm Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel) is Chairman of the Board; Zenon Christodoulou, President of Creative Colors, Inc. was elected President of the Chamber;  Dean Vlecides (Buckingham Place) as Executive Vice President); Jordan Yuelys, Esquire (attorney in Hackensack, NJ), is Regional President of Northern Region; Panos Stavrianidis (owner of Venus Jewelers), Regional President of Central New Jersey Region and Stavros Antonakakis (owner of Yes Brokers), Regional President of Greater Philadelphia Region.   Ted Golfinopoulos (President of TG Associates Real Estate) was elected Treasurer and Kalliopi Koussis, Esquire is Secretary. 

The Board of Directors, in addition to Efstratiades and Christodoulou, has the following members: Mario Afram, Stavros Antonakakis, Simeon Bogiages, Michael Bonanos, Nicholas Chingas, Georgia Chletcos, Andy Kamaris, Assad Khoury, Tom Komninos, Lou Kotsinis, John Marmaras, George Papaioannou, Joanna Savvides, Panos Stavrianides, Michael Symeonides Peter Thermos and Jordan Yuelys.

The Board of Directors at its first meeting appointed the following chairs of the Regional Advisory Boards: For Greater Philadelphia, Constantine Lariggakis and Georgia Chletcos as co-chairs; for Central New Jersey, Simeon Bogiages as chair.  The board also appointed Frank Araps, Esquire as regional vice president for Central New Jersey. 

The Chamber was one of the co-sponsors of the trade mission to Greece and Cyprus organized by the World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia from June 23 to July 1, 2007.  WTCGP President Joanna Savvides, who also sits on the GACC Board was in charge of the mission.  Eigth companies participated from the US and Canada.  The participants had meetings with potential business partners both in Greece and Cyprus, as well as with government authorities and US embassy personnel responsible for commercial activities.
